PAT’S PERIODICALS, PICTURES, & PROFILES

HI EVERYONE,

It’s March and I cannot wait for Spring….it looks and feels like it (45o) but know it won’t last.

Have a little bit of  news this month,  The Clancy’s of Diamond Oak Ranch in Oakland are again hosting a “PAT ODELL CLINIC” on April 10th and 11th  9:00 a.m. t o 4:00 p.m. each day. He will be covering Western Pleasure, Trail, Showmanship and Hunt Seat.
Last year we went and watched (I, hating myself for not taking Dan) but this year want to participate….he does an awesome job.    If you have questions about it call Rozz at 1-207-504-1933.

Other news from Diamond Oak is a new bay blanketed filly with 4 white socks born March 1st.   The filly is out of Chief Executive Officer and Roman’s Summer Blaze.

On a sad note, on February 17th the talented horse, Deep Dark Secret, owned by Tara and Shea Garvey was humanely put to sleep at Tufts.  Many, many wins by this special pair and just recently they led the Nation in Youth Bareback Equitation.  He will be sadly missed by all of us, and Tara and Shea, know our thoughts are with you.

In last month’s news I forgot to put in that on New Years’ Eve, Greg and Margo Condon went to put their horses in for the night and found their coming two-year old gelding, Texas Bad Boy (Simon) with a broken jaw.   They first took him to Annabassacook, in Augusta, where they tried to wire it  but the break was so bad they had to take him to NH Equine Medical and Surgical Center in Dover, NH. (If you remember the weather conditions were terrible, snow sleet, etc.) but he rode like a trooper.   At Dover they screwed it together with a plate.  He has been hand fed a special mash three times daily  ever since, but on the road to recovery.  New X-rays will be taken April lst.  Then they will find out when it comes off..  I’ll  keep you posted on Simon’s  progress.

Guess that the March news;   Don’t forget the GENERAL MEMBERSHIP  MEETING AT THE MASONIC LODGE IN NEWPORT MARCH 28TH .  AT 10:30.   POT LUCK.
Director’s Meeting 9:30.
