MAINE APPALOOSA HORSE CLUB

                                   12/3/11

Hi Everyone

Two Thousand Eleven is drawing to a close and it was quite an eventful year.  We managed to put on two well attended shows and realized a profit at both   We ran a successful saddle log program with ”Many Miles “ recorded; and also submitted a scrapbook to the Appaloosa Horse Club for the Exemplary Club Award which we won in our division and received a $200 check.  We have been busy.

The rewards for all our efforts is our Annual Awards banquet.  And again we held it at the Grand Hotel in Waterville.  With a lot of our members being out of State we still manage to have a good turnout (61) this year   A Silent Auction was held netting $527.50, and calendar sales made $206. After the buffet meal, the awards were given out and I have to say Leola Carter did a great job (it’s not an easy task and it was her first time doing it.).  Besides trophies, awards consisted of headstalls, halters, spur straps, blankets, jackets and other horsey wants.  After awards there was “Music by Lisa” and the line dancers were at it.  Some  might have gone to the pool instead.   I hope those of you that stayed overnight took advantage of the free breakfast offered by the Grand.

In wrapping up our year, the Maine Appaloosa Horse Club thanks you for your support and look forward to seeing you in May.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.
